CAD Administrator

Description


The EngineerX is seeking a CAD Administrator to join our growing team of experts in the engineering services field. The CAD Administrator will work closely with our customers' Product Engineering teams and other functions as necessary to provide an expert level of service and skill set by administering and optimizing existing systems and design/development tools where needed.



Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain CAD tools such as feature rich file templates and CAD libraries

  • Develop and manage training programs

  • Manage and implement CAD installations as well as version and service pack upgrades

  • Consult with IT department to optimize software deployment process

  • Support software standardization when moving from multi-CAD to single CAD platform by validating legacy data sets with single CAD platform

  • Validating legacy data sets with single CAD platform CAD Tool Monitoring

  • Monitor license usage to achieve optimum levels

  • Manage software (ie OpenLM, FlexLM) to develop utilization reports

  • Routine Performance Testing on CAD software

  • Helping IT develop disaster recovery plans

  • Monitor and advise on potential improvements

  • Participate in PDM Migration Activities

  • Manage PDM Vault

  • Manage and Optimize Engineering Change Process


Required qualifications

  • Knowledge of SolidWorks Administration tasks and techniques

  • Working knowledge of SolidWorks PDM professional or similar PDM system preferred

  • SolidWorks Mechanical Certification (Professional or Expert) a plus

  • Certified Enterprise PDM Administrator preferred

 

Position Qualifications:

Education:

  • Minimum of an Associate Degree in a Mechanical Engineering field or relevant experience

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years in CAD software implementation and support

  • Microsoft Office Suite with extensive Excel skills and PowerPoint

  • Experience in engineering and design information systems

  • Strong experience in CAD applications particularly SolidWorks and PDM products

 Work Environment and Physical Requirements:

  • Office environment

  • Sitting for long periods

  • Travel 10% with overnight stays
